IHC IQIP is on the move
IHC IQIP will soon relocate its Kinderdijk- and Delfgauw-based activities to a new location in Sliedrecht. This has been a Royal IHC location for many years, and has a long and proud history, beginning as a shipyard for dredgers over 100 years ago. Royal IHC recently decided to move all shipbuilding activities from Sliedrecht to Kinderdijk and Krimpen a/d Ijssel to make the site available for IHC IQIP’s activities. IHC IQIP is the newest organisation within IHC, and is dedicated to the supply of equipment and services for the on- and offshore construction industries. It was established one year ago to combine four former business units – IHC Hydrohammer, IHC Handling Systems, IHC Sea Steel and IHC Fundex Equipment.
Office and Warehouse
The office, warehouse and production yard in Sliedrecht are being completely upgraded and construction will continue over the coming months. This will result in state-of-the-art facilities that are necessary for the design, build and maintenance of the biggest Hydrohammers (eg S-4000) and handling tools (eg 1,400t upending tool) both now and in the future. In addition, all activities will comply with the latest safety requirements. Alongside the upgraded facilities, a completely new production unit will be built to handle the heaviest and largest equipment. IHC IQIP will move to its new head office once these upgrades have been completed, which is expected to be by the end of 2016.
IHC IQIP continues to enjoy positive growth and the move is the result of a number of factors. The new office and yard will offer ample space for the organisation to expand further. It offers the capacity to handle multiple activities, such as the assembly of Hydrohammers, tools and frames, and the storage of rental fleet equipment. There will also be an excellent test facility on site to evaluate equipment before it is commissioned. As the site is located near to the river Merwede, goods can be transported easily over water. Alternatively, customers can collect equipment on the way to projects all over the world.
All facilities at one location
The move to Sliedrecht means that IHC IQIP can engineer, produce and maintain almost all equipment at one site. This will speed up production, increase efficiency, reduce costs and create a safe working environment.
Sliedrecht will become the head office and main production facility of IHC IQIP. The engineering and fabrication of the Fundex rigs will remain in Goes. Furthermore, the yards and footholds in France, Germany, UK (engineering and production of frames), Singapore, China, Australia and the USA are in place to offer our customers local availability of equipment, maintenance and other services.
We hope to welcome you as soon as we have settled into our new home in Sliedrecht.
